Sugar showpiece: is there a specific thickness that can be casted as a flat shape, without being hollow?

The sugar cannot be cast in full or blown in a mould.

But, if you want to fill in vinyl tubes for instance, they can be full. You are allowed to use this technic. To cast 1.5 cm thick sticks for instance is ok.
